The GM Elects Website ("the Website") is maintained by GM Elects for your personal use and viewing. These Terms and Conditions apply to the entire contents of the Website under the domain name www.gmelects.org.uk and to any correspondence between us and you relating to the Website. Please read these terms carefully before accessing the Website. Your use of this Website indicates that you accept these terms and this takes effect from the date of first access to the Website. If you do not accept these terms, do not use this Website.
1. The Website
1.1. The Website and all information and materials contained within the Website have been prepared for access and use only by persons in the United Kingdom. We do not represent or warrant that the information or materials contained on the Website comply with the regulatory regime of any other country.

2.1. You are permitted to view, print and download extracts from this Website for your own personal, non–commercial use on the following basis:
2.1.1. That you do not modify any extracts in any way.
2.2. The permission under clause 2.1 does not extend to any material contained on the Website which is marked as being the copyright material of a third party. You must obtain permission directly from that third party before use of such material.

3.1. The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all materials on the Website (including without limitation, photographs and graphical images) are owned by GM Elects or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.
3.2. The names, images and logos of GM Elects are proprietary marks of GM Elects and copying of these is not permitted without prior approval from GM Elects.
4. Your access to the Website
4.1. GM Elects endeavours to ensure that the Website is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However GM Elects shall not be liable if for any reason the Website is unavailable at any time for any period.
4.2. GM Elects may suspend access to the Website in the event of system failure, maintenance, repair or for any other reason which in the opinion of GM Elects justifies the suspension of access.
5. Visitor conduct and material
5.2. You must not use the Website in order to hack or gain other illegal or unauthorised access to other computers.
5.3. GM Elects will co-operate fully with any law enforcement authority or court order requesting or directing GM Elects to disclose the identity of anyone posting any material in breach of this paragraph 5.
5.4. In the event that your use of the Website results in the need for servicing, repair or correction of equipment, software or data, you shall be liable for all costs incurred by GM Elects.
6. Third party access to the Website
6.1. GM Elects shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused to any user due to any alteration or amendment made to the Website by an unauthorised third party.
7. Links to and from other websites
7.1. The Website contains links to other websites, which are provided for your convenience. GM Elects has not reviewed these websites and does not control or take responsibility for the content and availability of any third party websites. GM Elects therefore, does not endorse or make any representation regarding the material on these third party websites. If you access any of the third party websites, you will be leaving this Website and you access the third party website entirely at your own risk.

You do not have to ask permission to link directly to pages hosted on the Website and we do not object to you linking directly to information that is contained within the Website, provided that you do not do so in a way which could give any impression of compromising the political neutrality of GM Elects, or which is offensive or otherwise objectionable.
8.1. GM Elects generally endeavours to ensure that the information on the Website is correct and up to date. GM Elects does not however warrant the accuracy and completeness of the material on the Website and may make changes to the material on the Website at any time without notice. The material on the Website, including material relating to the state of the law, may be out of date and GM Elects makes no commitment to update such material.

Subject to 9.2 below, GM Elects excludes all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to you or a third party (including but not limited to, any direct, indirect, punitive or consequential loss or damages, or any loss of income, profits, goodwill, data, contracts, use of money, or loss or damages arising from or connected in any way to business interruption, and whether in tort, contract or otherwise) in connection with the Website in any way or in connection with the use, inability to use or the results of (including reliance on the contents thereof) use of the Website, any websites linked to the Website or the materials on such websites.
9.2. GM Elects does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of GM Elects.

12.1. Reference to any statute or statutory provision includes a reference to the statute or statutory provision as from time to time amended, extended or re-enacted.
12.2. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English Law. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
1. The information we collect and how we use it
1.1. Electronic collection of information: If you are a user with general public and anonymous access, the Website does not store or capture your personal information, but logs the Internet Protocol ("IP") address of your computer. GM Elects may collect statistics using electronic methods relating to your use of the Website and these may be used to help GM Elects follow browsing preferences and improve future use of the Website. These statistics do not include any information that can be used to identify any individual.
2. How we protect your information
2.1. The internet is not a secure medium and it is important that you are aware that any information sent via the internet may be intercepted. If you send any information using the feedback forms, questionnaires or via email this will not be sent using a secure transmission method and may be read by others.
2.2. Any personal information collected by GM Elects using the feedback form will be held and processed securely using appropriate procedures and all staff and agents processing personal data are aware of their obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998. GM Elects shall only hold personal information for as long as necessary in order to fulfil the purpose for collecting the information.
3. Updating your details
3.1. If any of the information that you have provided to us changes, for example if you change your e–mail address or if you would like us to stop processing your personal information, please let us know by sending an email to GMMayoralElections@manchester.gov.uk or by sending a letter to GM Elects, Office of the CARO, Room 134, Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square, M60 2LA
4. Your consent
4.2. Owing to the global nature of the Internet infrastructure, the information you provide may be transferred in transit to countries outside the European Economic Area that do not have similar protections in place regarding your data and its use as set out in this policy. However, we have taken the steps outlined above to try to improve the security of your information. By submitting your information you consent to these transfers.
5. Crime prevention and detection
5.1. GM Elects may use personal information provided by you to detect and prevent crime and may disclose the information to the police where it believes that such information would assist police investigations.
