You can vote if you:

- Are registered

- Live in Greater Manchester

- Are 18 or over on 4 May 2017

- Are a British, European Union or Commonwealth citizen who does not require leave to remain in the UK.

British citizens living overseas are not eligible to vote.

The deadline to register is 13 April 2017.

You don’t have to register again if you’re already registered to vote, but being registered for other services (e.g. Council Tax) does not mean you’re registered to vote.

If you are not registered to vote you can do it online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote . You will need your date of birth and National Insurance number.

Or print out a paper form and return it to your local Electoral Services Office .

Once registered, you can vote in person at your polling station, by post before polling day or by appointing someone else to vote on your behalf as a proxy.

Check if you are registered or get help from your local Electoral Services Team.
